WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Biobab R&D develops and manufactures customized biological solutions to assist farmers in order to face and solve specific problems with the purpose of increase the crop production and the quality of the fruits and improving the health of the plants.
Biobab is owner of the technology and know-how.
Our products are based on:
-
PGPRs (Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria) products
-
Natural extracts
-
Combination of the above
-
Natural attractants and repellents
We offer innovative products for agriculture. Biofertilization, Biostimulation and Biocontrol are our three areas of work. The products are environmentally friendly and safe handling.
We work on the development or customiced products for international companies on demand. We adapt to the problems found in any area in the world to enter any market.
BIOSTIMULANTS
Biostimulants include diverse formulations of compounds, substances and other products that are applied to plants or soils to regulate and enhance the crop’s physiological processes, thus making them more efficient. Biostimulants act on plant physiology through different pathways than nutrients to improve crop vigour, yields, quality and post-harvest shelf life/conservation. (EBIC).
-
To optimize nutrient use efficiency
-
To increase crop production and fruit quality
BIOFERTILIZERS
Formulated products containing microorganisms that enhance the nutrient status, growth and yield of plants
-
Replacing soil nutrients
-
Making nutrients more available to plants
-
Increasing plant access to nutrients
BIOCONTROL
Particular bacterial strains in certain natural environments prevent infectious diseases of plant. How these bacteria achieve this protection from pathogenic fungi has been analysed in detail by BIOBAB. During root colonization, these bacteria produce antibiotics, elicit induced systemic resistance in the host plant or interfere specifically with fungal pathogenicity factors.
Also due to competition, and hormone production, the colonization of the rhizosphere by the beneficial bacteria confine the pathogenic bacteria and reduces their development.
Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria can protect plants from pathogen infection (biotic stress):
-
Occupying the same ecological niche
-
Competing with pathogens for nutrients
-
Synthesizing chitinase enzymes
-
Activating Induced Systemic Resistance
ABIOTIC STRESS
Microorganisms could play an important role in adaptation strategies and increase of tolerance to abiotic stresses in agricultural plants.
Plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) mitigate most effectively the impact of abiotic stresses (drought, low temperature, salinity, metal toxicity, and high temperatures) on plants
